Trial Management
Create Trial Invitations
Navigate to the Trials dashboard
Create a new trial invitation
Click on the Create Trial Invitation button.
Add:
- Product: Select the product you want to offer as a trial
- Plan: Choose the specific pricing plan for the trial
- Contact Name: First and last name of the prospect
- Email: Email address of the prospect
- Duration: Set the trial duration in days (e.g., 7, 14, 30 days)
Click Create Trial button.
What happens when you create a trial invitation?
Once you create a trial invitation, the system will:
- Generate a unique trial license key
- Send an automated email invitation to the prospect
- Create a trial record in your dashboard
- Set up the trial expiration date
Manage Trial Invitations
View and track trial invitations
Navigate to the Trials dashboard to see all your trial invitations.
The trials list shows:
- Product Name: The product being trialed
- Plan: The specific plan being trialed
- Contact: Name and email of the trial user
- Duration: Length of the trial period
- Expires: When the trial expires
- Actions: Options to manage the trial
Filter and search trials
Use the available filters to find specific trials:
- Product Filter: Filter by specific products
- Plan Filter: Filter by pricing plans
- Email Filter: Search by email address
- Contact Filter: Search by contact name
- Date Range: Filter by expiration dates
Delete trial invitations
To delete a trial invitation:
- Find the trial in the trials list
- Click the Delete button for that trial
- Confirm the deletion
Note: You can only delete trials that have not yet expired or been converted to paid subscriptions.
Trial Email Notifications
Automated trial invitation email
When you create a trial invitation, the system automatically sends an email to the prospect containing:
- Welcome message with trial details
- Download link for the product
- Trial license key for activation
- Trial duration and expiration date
- Instructions on how to activate and use the trial
Email content includes:
- Product name and description
- Trial duration and expiration date
- Download instructions
- License key for activation
- Support contact information
- Information about converting to a paid subscription
Monitor Trial Performance
Track trial status
Monitor your trials through the dashboard:
- Active Trials: Currently active trials being used
- Expired Trials: Trials that have expired without conversion
- Converted Trials: Trials that converted to paid subscriptions
Trial analytics
The system tracks:
- Total Trials Created: Number of trial invitations sent
- Trial Activation Rate: Percentage of trials that were activated
- Conversion Rate: Percentage of trials that converted to paid
- Average Trial Duration: How long users typically use trials
What happens when a trial expires?
When a trial expires:
- The trial license key becomes invalid
- The user loses access to the product
- The trial is marked as expired in your dashboard
- You can optionally send follow-up emails to encourage conversion
Convert Trials to Paid Subscriptions
Trial conversion process
When a trial user wants to convert to a paid subscription:
- They use the checkout link from their trial email or your website
- The system recognizes them as a trial user
- They complete the purchase process
- Their trial license is automatically upgraded to a full license
- They receive confirmation and continue using the product
Managing conversions
- Automatic Conversion: Trials convert automatically when users purchase
- License Upgrade: Trial licenses are seamlessly upgraded to full licenses
- No Data Loss: Users retain all their trial data and settings
- Immediate Access: Full product access is granted immediately upon payment
